*As a result of the preferences shown by those attending the Christmas meals our President, Mr Steve Copeland, has made the following personal donations to the four chosen Charities on a pro-rata basis:
Cancer Research £150.00, Essex Air Ambulance £125.00, Alzheimer’s Society £100.00, British Heart Foundation £30.00. He was also able to Gift Aid the donations to these Charities to enable a further 20% to be paid by the Government.
We trust that you all agree that this was a preferable option rather than him paying for the more traditional gifts that may not have always been useful.

I have received an unsigned letter, presumably from a Member, regarding the Dress Code of the Club, complaining that certain Members are flouting the rules. Without knowing who wrote the letter I can only ask that all Members take a good look at the rules and comply with them forthwith. The rules apply to the dress required to bowl at CIBC and footwear is included. Our Stewards have enough to do without having to monitor and/or remind bowlers of the standards that the Rules express so, be aware that those who see fit to ignore the rules will be asked to leave the Rinks and to change into the correct clothing. If the Member who wrote the letter would care to contact me directly I would be pleased to discuss this further and in greater detail.
